The interview process is as follows:
The candidate will complete the following prior to interview:
Applications and contents of the appropriate file are printed and given to Office of Religious Education and Catechesis and Office of Catholic Schools interviewers by support staff, The information is also kept in an electronic file.
Staff will schedule an in-house interview.
Generally three staff members, representative of the Office of Catholic Schools and Office of Religious Education and Catechesis, will meet with the applicant for approximately one hour. This interview is designed to assess the candidate's theological preparedness and a general understanding of high school education. The interview will be conducted using the questions generated and kept on file. At the conclusion of the interview, the candidate is given guidelines for a sample lesson plan, to be submitted as a follow-up to the interview. A copy of the policy #4113.2 will be given to each candidate prior to the interview.
After the interview each participating interviewer will complete a Teacher Interview Report.
A composite Teacher Interview Report will be generated for each candidate. It will be sent to appropriate high school principals as a part of each candidate's file.
Completed files and reports will be kept active for approximately one year. The files will be kept in the Office of Catholic Schools Personnel Records Office.
