Healthy LifeStars is our new curricular resource for K-5. It is a free online curriculum that has been developed by Ohio State and has been correlated to our new Health Course of Study. This session will introduce K-5 educators to the new Health course of study and The LifeStar Challenge, a curriculum resource that motivates and educates kids on the importance of physical activity, proper nutrition, and setting and achieving personal health goals through three simple principles, “I Am Active! I Eat Right! I Can Do It!”. In addition, the program offers. “wrap-around resources” for the families as well that they can access anytime for additional support. The session will include a sample lesson from the 12-week program. The LifeStar Challenge is free, easy to implement, and very fun for the kids! Training on this resource has been scheduled in September. There will be two virtual sessions (Sept 13 at 3:00 pm and Sept 20 at 4:00 pm) and one in-person sessions (Sept 19 at 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm, location TBD).
