Progress Code Description |
E |
Exceeds the Grade-level Standard The student exceeds the essential standard by consistently demonstrating an advanced level of understanding and/or the ability to apply knowledge at a higher level. For example, the student synthesizes information and makes connections between concepts to apply the knowledge in new and unique ways or to apply the concepts to solve real world problems. Some foundational skills may not have an “Exceeds.” For example, once a student knows all the letters of the alphabet, there are no ways to demonstrate “exceeding” this standard. |
M |
Met the Grade-level Standard The student has consistently met the essential standard taught. |
W |
Working toward Meeting the Standard The student is working toward mastery of the essential standard or is inconsistent in his/her demonstration of mastery when assessed. |
N |

INS |
Insufficient Evidence There was insufficient evidence provided for demonstration of mastery when assessed, usually because of lack of attendance or effort. There should be corresponding documented on other parts of the report card. Students will be given the opportunity to provide sufficient evidence by the end of the next grading period. |
