Types of CEUs

Training/Conferences

Verification: certificate of completion or attendance or conference program
Verification for Religious Event:  Religious Event Participation Form (up to 3 CEUs)

Webinar participation 
Verification: certificate or other proof of participation and webinar participation form
Number of contact hours (0.1 CEUs per hour)

Catechetical Institute (CI) Program

  • New Teacher to Diocese (with 5 Year Professional Licensure) or New Administrator:

Year One=8 sessions: .3 each, totaling 2.4 CEUs;
Year Two=8 sessions: .3 each, totaling 2.4 CEUs;
Year Three=8 sessions: .3 each, totaling 2.4 CEUs

  • Current Teachers in ongoing formation may apply CI Workshop for CEUs (.3 CEUs)
    Verification:  Screen print of completion 
  • Mentoring: A CI mentor can earn up to 9 CEUs (dependent upon time commitment-no more than 3 CEUs per year); *3 CEUs per year includes both mentor log and mentor training log (webinars)
    Verification: log of mentoring times and activities

Professional presentations: up to 5 CEUs per presentation made by you
Verification: copy of program, presentation, or outline with log of hours for presentation and preparation

Mentoring

  • A Resident Educator: up to 5 CEUs per mentee (need log for each)
  • Student teacher: up to 5 CEUs (dependent upon time commitment)
  • Student Observation Conference time: up to 3 CEUs (dependent upon time commitment)
    Verification: log of mentoring times and activities

Membership on Diocesan, local, state, or national committees
Verification: participation list or certificate of participation or attendance

Publication of article – 2 CEUs
Verification: copy of article in a professional journal

Publication of book – up to 9 CEUs
Verification: copy of book published for sale; must contribute to the effective practice of the education profession and/or the body of knowledge of the licensure area

Peer observation ‐ 0.5 CEUs (minimum of 5 class periods)
Verification: summary stating the purpose and knowledge learned from the observation

Educational travel or project – up to 5 CEUs per project – subject to principal and LPDC
approval
Verification: Complete Educational Projects/Travel Form
